At Chimes Israel, we are working to build a protected shelter at our Modi'in early childhood center, where young children with disabilities receive the specialized care and therapies they need to thrive.
For these children, reaching safety during a rocket attack is especially challenging. Many cannot move quickly or independently. Some require physical assistance, while others struggle with the sudden changes, loud sirens, and fear that accompany an emergency.
When a siren sounds, families in Modi'in have just 90 seconds to reach shelter. Yet moving our children and staff to the nearest protected space can take four and a half to five minutes. That is simply too long.
Our Project Is Underway, but We Need Your Help
We have launched this important initiative, but we have not yet raised enough money to begin construction. Our goal is to build an accessible, reinforced shelter directly at our center, allowing children and staff to reach safety quickly without having to leave the building.
Although the immediate danger may have subsided, the threat of future rocket attacks remains. We cannot wait for the next emergency to address this urgent need.
A shelter will do more than protect lives. It will give parents greater peace of mind, help staff respond confidently during emergencies, and allow children to continue receiving essential therapies in a safer environment.
Please Help Us Make This Shelter a Reality
We are grateful to everyone who has supported this project so far. But we still have a long way to go, and we urgently need additional donations to move forward with construction.
Every contribution, large or small, brings us closer to providing these vulnerable children with the protection they deserve.
Please consider making a donation today and sharing this project with friends, family, and colleagues. Together, we can turn this urgent need into a safe, accessible shelter that will protect children for years to come.
Thank you for standing with the children and families of Chimes Israel.
