If only you could experience the joy in the hearts of the children that participate in Youth Potential South Africa - YOUPSA's After-School Enrichment program in rural South Africa! It takes a network to help a child unfold their full potential & become an engaged, confident and successful young adult. We invite you to become part of this beautiful family by supporting disadvantaged Primary School children to attend YOUPSA's life-changing program. We are the only education nonprofit in the area.
YOUPSA operates in rural areas where children are socially and economically deprived, and in a society where support systems are absent. The children come from broken families, experiencing daily neglect, violence, abuse, malnutrition and a lack of positive role models. In school they do not acquire basic reading, writing and math skills. Other than YOUPSA's programs, there are no other opportunities for children to develop themselves, like recreational centers and extracurricular activities.
YOUPSA awakens the creativity, potential and purpose of South African children. Our weekly After-School Enrichment Program offers a safe environment where children feel supported and can be themselves. The program is for children in Grades 3 - 7 and includes arts, drama, team & leadership building, interactive Math learning, literacy skills, social-emotional skills, problem-solving, creative and critical thinking skills and fun activities for body and mind. A healthy meal is served each time.
YOUPSA makes a powerful contribution to the educational growth and personal development of disadvantaged children. Children learn new skills within a team environment, where we place a big emphasis on instilling life skills, building character, resilience and accountability. By actively participating in the learning process, they develop critical thinking and communication skills and engage in real world problem solving. School attendance, academic results & potential employment vastly improve.
