To date, we have gone through two intesive outreach efforts to get donors excited about our project. As we explain in the project description, our goal is to set up three library spaces in disadvantaged areas of Turkey, where children have little to access to these types of enrichment tools in their community. Our goal is to fill these spaces with books, technology and programming that will encourage Reading Cultures in the communities we serve, inspiring kids to be excited about reading, learn from reading and be creative through reading.
So far, we have collected $1,028.00 of our $23.500 goal. We greatly appreciate the support of those who have donated and those who have helped get the word out. We aim to buy 1000 new books for each of the three libraries. With the current donation amount, we are able to buy 250 books, which is a great start. Once we also have enough donations to buy the shelves to store these books, we will start buying the books for one library.
Still, we have a long way to go in our effort. We hope that past donors and new donors will step up to get us closer to our total fundraising goal. By the time of the next report, we hope we have pictures to show you of a new shelving set and the start of the book collection the set will store!
