We are pleased to share our latest Regional Impact Report, which highlights the results achieved through Forge's three impact units as we work to drive systemic change for the future of young people across Latin America.
Today, one in three young people lives in poverty, and three out of four face significant barriers to accessing quality employment, either because they are unemployed or working in the informal economy. What would our societies look like if every one of these young people had the opportunity to fully participate in the productive economy?
Young people from low-income households make extraordinary efforts to pursue their education while earning an income to support themselves or their families. Many live in underserved communities with fewer opportunities and face complex challenges every day, particularly young women.
How would our countries change if every young person had the opportunity to unlock their potential and build a meaningful life project?
For more than 20 years, Forge has been working to reduce youth poverty and unemployment across Latin America. We design educational experiences that empower young people from vulnerable backgrounds to build their life projects and successfully transition into quality employment. We believe in their talent and in their essential role in creating more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous societies.
Today, we advance our mission through three complementary impact units:
1. Forge LAB
Through Tu Futuro, our online employability program, we support young people aged 17 to 24 from vulnerable backgrounds in developing the socio-emotional, digital, and workplace skills needed to thrive in today's labor market. We also accompany them throughout their job placement journey by connecting them with quality employers.
2. Education System
We train teachers in the final years of public secondary schools, equipping them with tools and methodologies that strengthen students' employability skills and expand our impact to thousands of young people across the region.
3. Forge On Demand
We provide a digital ecosystem of open, self-paced learning experiences designed to reach as many young people as possible, equipping them with practical tools and resources to navigate the transition to adulthood and the world of work with greater confidence and opportunity.
