Dear Donor,

CYDD is committed to the overall well-being of its scholarship students. In addition to its scholarship programs for secondary and high school students, CYDD develops and implements complementary initiatives through its branches to support students’ personal growth.

Today, we are pleased to introduce PERGEL (The Positive Adolescent Development Intervention Program)—an initiative designed to support the social and emotional development of children during early adolescence. This stage of life is critical, as many of the values, skills, and behavioral patterns required for becoming an active and responsible member of society are formed during this period. For this reason, early adolescence represents a pivotal phase in human development and socialization.

PERGEL aims to strengthen young adolescents’ individual life skills, including self-worth, self-esteem, optimism, attribution styles, and beliefs about personality and intelligence. At the same time, it fosters relational skills such as autonomy, empathy, social competence, positive intergroup attitudes, and constructive conflict resolution. By enhancing both individual and interpersonal capacities, the program seeks to improve the overall well-being of children and to nurture psychologically healthy, positive, and socially responsible individuals.

Over the past four years, the program has been successfully implemented in the Istanbul and Izmir regions. The Sile branch was the first to launch PERGEL, starting with two groups comprising 36 students. Since then, the program has expanded significantly: groups of up to 20 students have been formed, reaching a total of 620 students across 36 classes. The program has been delivered by a dedicated coordination team and 70 trained instructors.

With your continued support, we will further enrich the lives of our scholarship students and expand the reach of this impactful program.

Thank you for your valuable contribution.
