A water well to save unfortunate families

Today, I kindly reach you to deliver the updates from the ground team who are struggling to continue the humanitarian mission for vulnerable families  in Indonesia which is experiencing the heaviest wave of Covid-19 Delta varian across all over the Islands of Indonesia. Our ground teams have been built the water well for poor families who lack of the apply of WASH "water, sanitation and hygiene".

Affordable and sustainable access to WASH is a key public health issue within international development and is the focus of the first two targets of Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6).

In Indonesia, there are 28 provinces experiencing a dry season and affected to about 48 Million Indonesia's population with difficulty in getting clean water. Some children must help their parents to walk on foot to get clean water. This project will build water well in drought areas that benefit directly the family in need.

During the peak of dry season in Indonesia, it is really affected to 28 provinces in drought condition. It is about 48 million people have been difficult to consume clean water. Households families in Indonesia have been struggling to get clean water for their daily life. The less theyconsume clean water the more health problems they will face.
The project would build water well that benefit to families and to make sure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. Especially drinking water to continue life.

Indonesian territory is a disaster-prone area. There are at least twelve disaster threats that are grouped in geological disasters such as: earthquake, tsunami, volcanic eruption, landslides; hydro-meteorogical disasters such as: floods, forest and land fires; and anthropogenic disasters (epidemic disease outbreaks and failed technology-industrial accidents. According to the 2019 Indonesian Disaster Rix index data, there are 210,000,000,000 Indonesian people living in disaster prone areas.

Drought in Indonesia has an impact on the health, economy and social conditions of the people. There are many possibilities of increasing the spread of hepatitis A, typhus, malaria to dengue fever, and other diseases. In the long run the bad effects of long drought will have an increased stunting effect on children. This is because with extreme drought disaster will affect eating patterns, parenting to sanitation in affected citizens.

More than 1 million families in Indonesia have to live with minimal lighting due to the inadequacy of electricity. It is about 48 million Indonesians suffered from a clean water crisis in 2019. 9,358 hectares of agricultural land experienced crop failure due to a lack of water in 2019. 55 districts/cities in 77 Provinces in Indonesia experienced drought with urgency status.

Poverty is most severe in the remote islands of eastern Indonesia, where 95% of the population lives in rural areas. However, in absolute numbers, the poor are concentrated in Java, with West, Central, and East Java. Java had an average of more than 5 million poor people during 2006-2011.

The target group of the beneficiaries are the poor family, the poor widow who are struggling on the supply of the clean water for daily life. Most of them have to get the clean water from the river which is not a clean enough to consume for the daily life and could cause the stomach-ache and diarrhea and much-much more. Occasionally they have to buy a clean water 0,75€ for 9 liters which is very expensive because they do not have the income.

The ground team have been built water wells for 2 families called Rusni and Serum  who have about 10 family members, and they have found difficulties to access a clean water for daily life.
