Southern Lebanon's pets are suffering quietly in the shadow of war. As families seek refuge, many of their pets are left behind, confused, frightened, hungry, and alone. Some pets are stuck in bombed villages or localities, while others roam the streets looking for their people, who may never return. Innocent victims of a crisis they never asked for, their condition is worsening daily. Pets for a Cause is here to respond to that need with compassion and a sense of urgency.
In southern Lebanon, pets have become silent victims of war. As families flee bombed villages and unsafe neighborhoods in search of refuge, many are forced to leave their animals behind. Some pets are trapped in damaged homes or deserted streets; others wander through destroyed areas searching for owners who may never return. These companion animals , who once knew safety and care are now facing hunger, dehydration, injury, illness, and exposure with no one to protect them.
Pets for a Cause responds to this crisis with urgent, ontheground support for pets affected by the conflict. Working closely with trusted local partners, veterinarians, and dedicated volunteers, we provide emergency pet food, clean water, medical treatment, and temporary shelter for abandoned and displaced animals. Whenever possible, we also work to reunite pets with their families or place them in safe new homes. Each donation helps us purchase food, medicine, and supplies.
Over time, this project will save the lives of hundreds of companion animals and reduce suffering for many more across southern Lebanon. By stabilizing their immediate needs and finding safe placements, we prevent further neglect, illness, and unnecessary deaths. Reuniting pets with their families also strengthen the emotional recovery of people traumatized by war, helping preserve the human-animal bonds that provide comfort and resilience in crisis.
