The project focuses on girls, boys and adolescents, we seek educational strengthening through workshops and training that promote continuity or school reinsertion, reinforcing teaching in the city of San Cristobal de Las Casas. In our city live many children who come from the different nearby communities that speak languages such as Tzotzil or Tseltal, most of them find themselves behind in education, with parents who do not write Spanish or who have a minimum school level, not having the power.
Chiapas is a state with the highest poverty rates in Mexico. Given the 2020 pandemic, the gap has become much stronger; Children and young people did not have educational and economic opportunities, now after this problem there is a greater dropout rate, they do not have access to education due to lack of resources, they are limited to working on the street in informal commerce, triggering many risks in addition to migration to other states and to the US in conditions of risk and vulnerability.
Through educational workshops we seek the objective of achieving the permanence of girls, boys and young people in their formal education, weekly workshops will be offered, for one year of 60 direct beneficiaries will be trained , with an indirect impact on 305 people, all in situations of multiple vulnerabilities. Within this training, education workshops will be worked on, as well as English and gender equality workshops.
Achieve the permanence of 60 girls, boys and young people in their formal education in a situation of multiple vulnerabilities that deepened with the covid19 pandemic who work on the streets of San Cristobal de Las Casas.
