In recent months, the Learning Safe Project has worked with the Ministry of Education to implement the safe reopening of 214 schools in Liberia. The Learning Safe Project staff has successfully provided trainings focused on Safe School Protocols and set up WASH stations in 214 schools across 3 districts. The Learning Safe Project trainings were well received based on project team efforts to mentor and monitor school staff.
The national recovery work in the past few months cannot be over emphasized. There are still urgent needs among school staff and children throughout Liberia. We urge you to support our ongoing Ebola Prevention work and Post Ebola School Recovery programs to prevent future outbreaks. Ebola may be out of the headlines, but the need for long-term relief and recovery is as strong as ever.
