A New Way

Just this month ROAD has once again created a valuable partnership to move recovery forward.  ROAD has partnered with SBP USA who will provide participants from their state level AmeriCorps program to serve with ROAD for a 10 month cohort making homes home again for disaster survivors with little to no means of recovery on their own.

ROAD will bear a cost share for this labor team in exchange for over 2,000 hours of recovery help per participant.  These participants will serve full time for 10 months making needed repairs to disaster survivors across the state, while learning valuable construction skills for a vocation after their service.  This will put ROAD in the drivers seat of making recovery happen and participants in a position for gainful employment.

Financial support for this labor force is needed as we increase capacity to serve those in need in a shorter time frame than ever before.  Typical recovery has taken 2 1/2 to 3 years to meet the needs for families across the state per disaster.  With your help that time can be cut in half.
