This week at VALUES we have been celebrating Learning Disabilities week. We are using this opportunity to highlight some of the fantastic people we work with. Each of our clients is unique and brilliant in their own way, they try lots of new things with us and have a great time. We are always proud of how they succeed and give new things a go, while having fun with a smile on their face!
The first person we want to introduce you to is Jai. Like all our clients, Jai has a learning disability but he does not let this dampen his ambition. He comes to VALUES to get support to work towards employment. He has done some great work this year and completed his Level 2 Customer Service qualification. We asked him why he likes coming to VALUES, he said:
“I like coming to VALUES as I get to make friends. It’s important to get support as I’m looking for a job.”
The second person we are showcasing is Ameen. Ameen comes to VALUES to practice Maths, English and Computer skills. Ameen has done brilliantly in the last couple of months and has progressed really well, especially with his maths skills, and is now able to complete some of his work independently. Well Done Ameen! Here's what he had to say about VALUES:
“I doing maths as I like learning new things. I like coming to VALUES as it is fun and I make friends”
Preety has been enjoying being part of the VALUES drama groups for a couple of years now. Both groups always do a great job and put lots of energy into their shows and rehearsals. They do fantastically well at entertaining their friends and family. Preety said:
“I like drama at VALUES as it helps me remember thing. The staff help me feel good and more confident”
Thank you for your continued support of VALUES. It allows us to continue helping these amazing individuals plus over 100 others all with a learning disabilities.
