SHARP Digital is closing its GlobalGiving project
By Cath Croxton | Director
Hi there wonderful donors and friends
SHARP Digital is closing its GlobalGiving project and will no longer be taking all your fabulous donations.
However, it isn't the end of SHARP Digital at all.
We are currently running two pilot projects across South Africa with 800 learners. It is an exciting time for us as we build digital inclusion in communities by training up Digital Inclusion Ambassadors to use our courses to open digital doors.
If you would like to continue supporting this non-profit, then we stil have an open account with PayFast where you can donate as much or as little as you would like, and also set up the donation to recur monthly.
THANK YOU so much for all your wonderful support.
Any questions, please feel free to email me: cath@sharpdigital.co.za
Warm regards
Cath

Our courses change how people view digital technology!
By Catherine Croxton | Director

YOUR DONATIONS HAVE AN IMPACT!
After taking our courses, learners say they now find it EASIER to use digital technology!
During the week of 17 May, we conducted a research study with 50 participants at our center in Zwelihle. They completed a pre-survey and our course on Women and Girls - The Power of Digital. They then completed a post-survey. On Friday, 10 of the participants joined us for a focus group to discuss the experience in greater detail. The data is still being evaluated but some of the highlights are detailed below.
- Nearly 30% more participants said they now found digital technology and the Internet very easy to use after doing just this course.
- 100% of participants gave the learning experience 5 out of 5 smiley faces
- 98% of participants said they wanted to do more of SHARP Digital's course.
You have donated before. Your donation made a difference.
Donate AGAIN. Help us change people's lives and start to use the every day technology that we take for granted.

Let's shine a light on the Digital Blind Spot
By Catherine Croxton | Director
![]()
In South Africa, the digitally fluent few and the majority who are digitally excluded live in very different digital realities from each other. The gap is vast and because of the blind spot, very little is being done about it.
In addition to our every day work on the ground @ #grassroots, we are also working to shine a light on this problem.
And last week, we were given the opportunity to tell this story in a national newspaper.
See here: https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2021-02-04-sa-has-a-huge-digital-blind-spot-and-its-holding-us-all-back/
SPREAD the word and SHARE the story. Ask your friends to support us too.
Remember, that while the World is focussed on the virus, this important poverty indicator quietly gets worse.
