1. Background
During this reporting period, Family Harvest Foundation continued implementing vocational skills training under the Learn to Earn Trades School initiative. Key activities included student registration, preparation for Uganda Vocational Training Assessment Board (UVTAB) examinations, AND internal briefings. Financially, the project received donations totaling USD 186.07 and three disbursements amounting to USD 235.26 through GlobalGiving. A total of USD 3,070.64 was utilized during the period, supplemented by funds from other partners and grantors.
The team also actively participated in sector coordination, partnerships, and capacity-building engagements including:
-Uganda Association of Private Vocational Institutions (UGAPRIVI) and UVTAB registration training.
-Global Assembly of the Movement for Community-Led Development (MCLD)
-Quarter 3 planning meeting with Girls Not Brides Uganda
-Advocacy meeting in November 2025, on Women’s Rights and Empowerment by REENAH Initiative for Humanity, a Community Based Organization in Gulu. Also participated in their Network meeting on 17th December 2025.
-Training on Child Well-being and Protection by World Vision, on 26th - 28th November 2025.
2. Activities Undertaken2.1 Support to UVTAB & UBTEB Certification
We worked closely with UVTAB to ensure that all registered candidates successfully participated in the December 2025 examinations.A total of 63 candidates who sat for the assessments, including beneficiaries supported by Gulu University RETI Programme and GlobalGiving-sponsored learners (bricklaying and hairdressing trainees), are waiting to receive their certificates.
2.2 Partnerships and Networking
Maintained strong collaboration with GlobalGiving Foundation, Girls Not Brides Uganda, and MCLD, including participation in the Global Assembly focusing on policy, governance, and strategic direction.
Participated in GlobalGiving Giving Tuesday Campaign and social media storytelling workshops on Women, Girls and Gender Justice.
Engaged in National Girls Summit planning, contributing to strategies targeting teenage pregnancy through vocational training, economic empowerment, and Sexual and Reproductive Health education.
Renewed operational certifications with Nwoya District, Gulu District, and Gulu City Councils, and maintained membership in the Nwoya Child Welfare Committee.
Submitted grant proposals to three potential donors.
3. Institutional Development
FHF initiated registration with Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) under the new name:
REELMA Family Harvest Foundation. All required documentation and payments have been submitted; approval is pending.
4. Key Achievements
63 candidates successfully completed UVTAB assessments, including six GlobalGiving supported students, and partner school candidates lacking in-house certification authority.
Four Village Savings & Loan Associations (VSLAs) remain active, enabling Vocational Skills Training graduates to save, borrow, and grow micro-enterprises.
The Principal Tutor ably commenced on the Basic Instructor Skills Training (BIST) under Uganda Private Vocational Institutions (UGAPRIVI) to enhance instructional quality.
Improved online UVTAB registration efficiency through training and constant follow-up; significantly reduced delays and errors.
Learners benefited from holistic empowerment sessions, including liquid soap making, and spiritual encouragements.
5. Key Activities Completed
Mobilized and admitted 40 new trainees for the December 2025 – March 2026 training cycle.
Prepared enrolled students for March/April 2026 UVTAB assessments.
Planned community follow-up visits for post-training employment tracking scheduled for quarter 1 of 2026.
Continued participation in MCLD governance forums and funding opportunities.
Strengthened donor outreach through collaboration with peer CBOs, referrals, and , targeting additional partners.
Ongoing URSB registration finalization.

6. Conclusion
The Learn to Earn Trades School continues to create meaningful change by equipping youth—especially girls and vulnerable learners—with employable skills, economic independence, and social resilience. Through the continued support of GlobalGiving Foundation and our partners, beneficiaries are gaining livelihoods, dignity, and hope for a better future.
