Implementing Partner: Family Harvest Foundation
Project title: Periodic Report July to September 2024
Background
Prossy is a young Ugandan single mother aged 24 years who willfully joined our tailoring training program in July 2024 being part of the students admitted. She narrated her story and also wrote it as her testimony. She requested our tutor to have her story posted for other to benefit from it.
Other than our trainee Prossy we have continued to provide assorted services to the trainees including a field visit to orient the trainees with out of school events.
What happened breakthrough
Prossy is a determined person as after loosing a job as a bus conductor in one of the school in Gulu City she opted to join the tailoring training program at our facility. She was able to only buy the linen to make the clothes but could not afford the tuition fees. Her expereince during the field visit though not captured in her story is another testimony.
Gaining self confidence
Prossy gained self confidence after meeting friends with similar conditions in her classroom. We had five youth admitted during the July 2024 lot for the tailoring course. Other course have had intermittent admission with trainees droping off as tution requirement are asked.
Prossy’s future
Prossy's dream to self employment is soon turinig to reality as she completed her training on 17th October 2024. She elaborated her next move as doing any other job available to buy herself a sewing machnine.
End of part 1 of her story.
Prossy is the second trainee we have posted a story about as we see her committed to self-reliance after abondning a job to get trained and create her own job. As we keep track of her we shall provide her next acheivements in her second story.
