Part 1: GENERAL INFORMATION
Executive summary
We have concluded 2022 well though at a low pace on the number of youth being enrolled. The education system in Uganda is back to normal and we are making similar progress like any other school in Uganda with a high hope of acheiving our enrolment target of 90 before end of 2023.
The results of the 18 who sat the Worker's PAS examination in March 2022 are very promssing and the chance is high that subsequent enrolments for DIT examination will be much better than the previous years. We are set to hold a graduation ceremony February 2023 for all the lots that have set a similar examination from our school.
The 23 youth as at end of 2022 who were at school did not sit for examination as only two of them were able to pay the examination fees to sit for the DIT exams which were held in late November and early December 2022. Our project progress status is as below:-

1.2.1 Objective 1: To provide skills training to 90 youth with at least 60% females, in different skills trade mentioned. 23 are at school attending training.

1.3. 1 With strick observnace of the Standards Operating Procedure (SOPs) at the school, we continue to have normal operations.
1.3.2 Main activities planned for January to March 2023
Project specific Objective 1: To provide vocational skills to 90 youth from the Acholi districts in northern Uganda.
Activity: Education and Entrepreneurship
Activities: Provide training for year the students recruited, conduct monitoring of activities, register for examinations, number of annoucement and community visits.
Outputs: Number of those enrolled - 23 expected to complete this year; Monitoring of activities: 1; Register for examinations: 123 Number of announcements and community visits: 3; Number of adverts to make:03
Project Specific Objective 2: To provide educational scholarship for skills training to 15 youth.
Activity: provide scholarship for vocational skills training
Activities: Choose 15 youth to receive partial scholarship beneficiaries and make payment for them.
Outputs: Number of beneficiaries identified and number of youth recieving the partial scholarship thus 15 student 9 females and 6 males be given schoalrship.
Project Specific Objective 3: To procure tools & equipment, and materials for students training.
Activity: Education and training
Activities: Procurement of tools, equipment and materials acquired
Outputs: Number of tools, equipment and materials acquired. No tools, equipment or material bought.
Project Specific Objective 4: To pay Tutor’s allowances
Activity: Education and training
Activities: Pay allowances to 6 staff:
Outputs: Number of staff 06; payment for November and December 2022 complete - Plan for January to March 2023 under way).
Part 2: OTHER INFORMATION
2.1: Participation
a. We expect the 23 youth who registered in term three 2022 to complete the training by 2023/03/31.
2.3: Gender Equity
a. Gender issues remain a paramount concept in every aspect of our project and shall remain at 60:40. Gender injustices and reproductive health issues shall be shared with the students twice in a three month period. One microgrant proosal will be submitted in referenced to Gender equity and reproductive injustices.
2.4: Child Centeredness and Rights Based Approaches
a. We shall resume and take into consideration the approach. Child mothers who enroll with us will have 3 sessions on child centered and rights based approach.
2.5: Challenges, Lessons Learnt and dissemination
a. Successful and productive partnership continues to exist between GlobalGiving Foundation (GGF), Movement for Community Led Development (MCLD), CARE Intenrational, WEZESHA IMPACT, and Family Harvest Foundation (FHF) and other partners. We also have contacted the Rotary Club of Gulu and that of Gulu City and are eager to work with the Rotary International.
b. We have successfully completed year one of skills training for CARE International sponsored trainiess with 14 youth set to graduate after successfully receiving their certificate of completion from DIT.
c. A new partnership with GIZ is in the making to energise our agricultural department as youth will be equiped with skills for better farming practices and able to outsource funding to uplift their farming standards. Two other microgrant project proposal will be submitted in 2023 so as to have three Microgrants on addition to our active project Learn to Earn.
2.6: Emerging Advocacy Issues:
a. We are participating in the Advocacy programme focus on fighting stunting among children 5 years and below in Nwoya district specifically in Koch Goma sub county.
We have applied to participate in the Gender equality advocates of the GlobalGiving Foundation that will build our capacity to implement our activities associated with Gender Injustices and Reproductive health issues which are common among our beneficiaries.
2.7: Organizational Changes:
a. The Board, location, staff and management structures remained the same. Registration with Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) will be completed this year 2023 as a national NGO.
b. Our website hosting and subscription is in active operation until 2023/11/29
c. Staffs have been paid for November and December 2022 while the Landlord have accumulated rental arrears of term three of 2022 that shall be paid in January 2023.
2.8: Other Comments:
Through this partnership with GGF, MCLD, FHF is bound to position itself into self-sustainable level as we plan to train the trainees’ on climate change/environment as well.
