Part 1: GENERAL INFORMATION
Executive summary
Covid 19 has troubled every sector of the world economy not to mention the education sector in which our vocational training school belongs. With a target to train 90 youth in 2 years 2019 - 2020, our plan has not achieved as a result of the pandemic. With lockdown instituted by the government of Uganda and others, the idleness, gambling rate, prostitution or formation of organized groups of street gangs on the good side of the pandemic came down but with pain on the side of income to feed the families. We could not enroll, train or support our youth because of the lockdown until it was eased for some sector that was when we reached out to 75% of our 13 youth who we had enrolled early this year 2020to know their status and how Covid-19 is affecting them.
The megaphone bought with funds received under the microporject to reduce the spread of Covid-19 and do a deep clean-up of the school have been used by the Tutor of Construction on a volunteer basis to make 50 awareness appearances in 14 trading centres reaching out to 3,188 people of which 1,465 are females and 1,723 males attracted to listen to the Covid 19 messages and talk by the Tutor who uses his bicycle move from one place to another on his publicity program with the permission being granted by Gulu District Local Government Covid 19 TASK Force Committee headed by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC).
There were no funds received from parents and only funds raised during the July Bonus Day and that for the Microprojects were the funds that we have used during this period of report. Some expenses were reflected on the microproject while those not captured are reported on in this report thus the need to submit the second proposal for a microproject before end of 2020.
