Leadership & Impact Fund: Scaling Local Solutions

Hello donors, Action Changers, and interested people!

Action Change has always had sustainability at the heart of our strategy, but now we are turbo-charging it. Our plan is to interview all of our partner projects, identify which areas they need support in, and provide training resources for areas such as fundraising, marketing and improved digital literacy. This is where I come in as a new member of the Action Change team - I will be conducting these check-ins, with the focus being on reducing skills gaps to help our amazing partners run their projects more efficiently.

The beauty of this approach is that the benefits greatly outlast purely financial support: money is given and spent, but skills last a lifetime and can be transferred through a community in a ripple effect. Furthermore, this teaching process imroves projects' independence which facilitates their long term transition to self-sustainability, allowing Action Change to move on to a new project and start the cycle again.

With this in mind, I'd like to introduce a new program being born in the Ocean View rasta camp. Jay Jay Nicholson is starting the process of setting up a community farm with a vision of selling vegetables to local businesses whilst using the income generated to employ local residents and scale the farm up to a point where it can fully support itself - the epitome of sustainability! One element of targeted skills development is business/ entrepreneurship courses which help projects like this be completed, however these don't come for free, which is why it's more important than ever to make progress toward our fundraising goal today.

Donations to this fund will help to start a multiplier process of vital skills development in places which need them the most, allowing incredible volunteers and project managers to acheive their goals sooner and continue their work in the long term.
