Across Belarus people have been fighting for human rights and press freedom in their country. Your donation to this fund will provide support to organizations helping Belarusian people, activists, and journalists who are being detained and abused for challenging the Belarusian government.
Freedom of the press is heavily restricted in Belarus, where the arrests of independent journalists and activists are ongoing. At least 600 Belarusians remain behind bars as political prisoners. Many more remain at risk simply for advocating for human rights.
Belarusian-led organizations have been struggling to fundraise because doing so puts them at risk of being shut down by authorities. That's why Last Week Tonight is partnering with GlobalGiving to support nonprofits in Eastern Europe that are committed to democracy and freedom of the press.
