The students were treated to a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience with a visit to the Rosario Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary in the State of Michoacan, made possible through the generosity of our wonderful friends at Follow Me Tours. This special outing was thoughtfully woven into a rich, multi-dimensional learning experience. In the classroom, students began by sharing Cathy Taylor’s beautiful book Where Butterflies Sleep sparking curiosity and imagination. This was followed by a biology lesson exploring the butterfly’s life cycle and its extraordinary migration journey to Mexico. Upon returning, the learning continued as students expressed their impressions through creative art projects inspired by the trip. It was a meaningful blend of literacy, science, creativity, and lived experience—well done everyone!
