A Never Ending Journey

New Computer Lab Operational
New Computer Lab Operational

Every year we continue the journey as we travel down the path to educational excellence.  Each year there are improvements to structures, infrastructure, strategies, technologies, and facilities. Annually it is a  process of evaluating and improving.  Every year we add to our list of assets, continuing to reinvest in our properties and our selves to make each year a little better than the last.

This year the list is long with a new computer lab, new bathrooms, a new classroom, improvements to the lunch area, teachers taking courses through two colleges to get their Bachelors degrees by 2020 We have also added a new Vice Principal to help to improve the policies and procedures as well as the curriculum.

Having been successful at all this, we continue to plan for the future.  Our mortgage is almost paid off with less than $25,000.00 outstanding and plans to improve our campus are on the drawing board. Within the next 18 months, the goal is to start construction on a new cafeteria/kitchen which will act as the facility to prepare healthy lunches for our students as well as serve as a home economics classroom teaching students how to cook and prepare meals for themselves as they grow.  Integrated into this structure will be a cistern system which will serve as a water catchment system to help defray the costs of providing water to the whole facility.

Every successful organization has a vision and sets goals to reach their conceptualization of what they want to become in their society. As a school, we want to become a leader in education in our island town. Moving forward, we will continue to analyze what our strengths are and what we need to do to become the best school.  Our goal is to teach children the foundations of learning, so they will understand the importance of learning in becoming successful.  One of our goals is to teach in such a way that learning is fun and they develop a love of learning.  Then, because of their love and appreciation, they will become lifelong learners, the leaders of the future.
