Almost seven years ago Ambergris Caye Elementary School embarked on a new journey under new management. We started with 5 little classrooms on rented land, with only 24 students. Today we are proud to say we have grown! Currently we have 115 students, two additional buildings, a total of nine classrooms,a pre-school, a special needs program, a library and an administrative office. The best part of all this is during this time not only have we expanded and grown we have been able to purchase the land on which our buildings sit and owe less than $20,000.00 on the mortgage. To say the least it has been a busy seven years.
Moving forward it is apparent we need to expand. Our classrooms are small, usually only about 10' X 20', we would like to see a minimum of 20' X 20' which would necessitate turning 2 classrooms into one. By doing this we would then need an additional 4 classrooms just to house the current population. Ideally, we should have 2 classes of each grade level, which would mean we really need 12 new classes to meet all our needs adequately. The only way this long term vision can become a reality will be to purchase adjacent land and build upon it.
We never know just how we will get funding for these projects, we just pray that our story and or vision touch the hearts of people like yourself and those people give generously. Gifting is the only way these projects will ever become a reality. We have come a long way in the past seven years and we hope to go twice as far in the next seven years. You can be a part of the journey through your support.
May the Holiday Season bring you peace and contentment which inspire you to help provide an upgraded educational facility for the children of San Pedro
