The summer of 2018 is going to be an exciting summer! This year Ambergris Caye Elementary School has been blessed with a gift donation which will provide 3 new classrooms and a new kitchen. While we still own only a small portion of the land on which the school sits we will use every square inch to build this new building.
This newly donated building will make it possible for ACES to grow our student population. We currently have only one classroom for each grade level. However, next year, we will start with 2 Infant I classes and 2 Infant II classes allowing us to grow our population by thirty more students at a minimum. So, with 10 full classes we could potentially house 150 students which would put us very close to full sustainability from a financial perspective. If we are able to achieve this enrollment this would be the first year we would be able to work without an enormous deficit.
We willl keep all of our supporters updated with the progress as we go through the summer. With only 2 months to make this project a reality it is going to be a very busy summer. The idea that people who work in education get summers off is a myth, yet this year we will be happy to put in the extra time. More students educated in a Quality Child Friendly School means a brighter and a better future for everyone.
If you would like to help with this project and the additional expenses of furnishings and classroom supplies please feel free to donate through this site. Thanking everyone for their continued support.
