This project is located in Punta Hacienda, a rural population in the mountain, has no drinking water or sewage system, approximately 270 low-income families living there, children with malnutrition, abandoned and sick elderly people and also feeling hungry every day without access to basic medicines or food. This population managed to build a medical center with plastic bottles used as bricks, recycling 20,000 plastic bottles, this community needs support to activate their space.
The Green Brick project intends to implement a basic medicine cabinet, carry out health brigades for children and adults, make a food bank for very poor families, also strengthen family gardens through the donation of seeds and tools and finally carry out workshops on entrepreneurship and local development so stop the malnutrition in children and old people. To make visible a poor population approximately 800 people that has recycled and built a center with plastic bottles.
With the implementation of a food bank and a medicine cabinet we will solve problems of child malnutrition and the lack of access to basic medicines for the elderly. In addition, with the entrepreneurship and development workshops we will help many families to get out of poverty. On the other hand, we will encourage volunteers to get to know the reality of life in the mountains.
