While we had originally planned to hold the camp this year, ongoing civil unrest in Ladakh has made it unsafe to host a group of children at this time. After carefully considering the situation, we made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the camp until next year. The safety and well-being of every child will always be our first priority.
Although the camp has been postponed, the vision behind this project has not changed. We are still committed to welcoming these children and providing them with an experience designed to give them friendship, encouragement, and opportunities to discover their potential. For many of these children, life can be marked by poverty, isolation, and limited opportunities for recreation. When the camp takes place, our hope is to provide a safe and supportive space where they can play, learn, build confidence, and form friendships.
In the meantime, we are using this additional time to prepare thoughtfully for next year’s camp and to ensure that the experience will be meaningful for every child who attends. We are grateful to the GlobalGiving community for standing with these children and for making this opportunity possible. While the camp has been postponed, our commitment to these children remains strong, and we look forward to creating this special experience with them next year.
