Turning World Malaria Day into Lifesaving Action

By Ikechukwu Kelechukwu | Project Lead

Dear Donors,

On World Malaria Day, we are taking bold, direct action to protect vulnerable families living in the urban slums of Mararaba communities in Nigeria. Thanks to early support, this project is already gaining momentum, but we still have a critical funding gap to close.

Malaria remains one of the deadliest diseases affecting children under five and pregnant women. In Nigeria alone, the burden is devastating, accounting for a significant share of global malaria deaths. In overcrowded slum communities, the risks are even higher due to stagnant water, poor sanitation, and limited access to healthcare.

What We’re Doing Right Now
Our trained volunteers are preparing for door-to-door distribution of 450 long-lasting insecticide-treated mosquito nets (LLINs). Each visit goes beyond distribution—we are also providing malaria prevention education, teaching families how to properly use and maintain their nets for maximum protection.

This approach ensures:

  • Last-mile delivery to the most vulnerable households
  • Community health education to drive behavior change
  • Immediate protection for children and pregnant women
  • Sustainable malaria prevention practices

Why This Matters
Every mosquito net distributed is a lifesaving intervention. It means:

  • Fewer malaria infections
  • Reduced hospital visits and healthcare costs
  • Improved school attendance for children
  • Stronger, healthier communities

The Urgent Need
We are aiming to raise $1,950 to fully fund this outreach. At the moment, we still need the majority of this funding to reach all targeted families.

How You Can Help
Your support today can turn awareness into real impact:

  • $10 can help protect a child from malaria
  • $25 can support a household with a mosquito net and education
  • $50+ helps us reach multiple families in high-risk areas

Every donation brings us closer to a malaria-free community.

Be Part of the Solution
This World Malaria Day, don’t just raise awareness—save lives. Join us in delivering protection, prevention, and hope to families who need it most.

Donate now and help us reach every home with lifesaving mosquito nets.

Together, we can end malaria, save lives, and build healthier futures in Nigeria.
