A devastating 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey on Sunday, Oct 23, 2011, causing damage and causalities. Hundreds of people have died, and even more have been left homeless. Kizilay has a team of over 120 people in the disaster area providing needed supplies, including tents, food, heaters, blankets, and more to survivors in the effected area and will be providing psycho-social and other support.

Challenge

A devastating 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey on Sunday, Oct 23, 2011, causing damage and causalities. Hundreds of people have died, and even more have been left homeless.

Solution

Kizilay is providing needed supplies, including tents, food, heaters, blankets, and more to survivors in the effected area. A team of over 120 people are already at the disaster zone distributing these supplies.

Long-Term Impact

These funds will support Kizilay through Turkish Philanthropy Funds to provide immediate and longer term support, including distribution of necessary supplies and psychosocial support to survivors.
