Yet again, this was an amazing year where despite the pandemic, we were able to pivot and make the GoGo Run happen in a possible way.
The support from the run has been very well received. In addition to the Christmas Party for St.Francis where each child picked out the color and style HeatTech they wanted (and needed) sponsor Decathalon also donated 180 pairs of shoes which were quickly divided up by homes and sent to St.Francis, St.Josephs, Christmas Village, Matsubaen and Saitama Ikujin which is the home we normally end the GoGo run at.
There were 250 stockings that went out to the the homes we do courses with. Christmas cards from students sent to St.Francis. Bicycles, sports balls, nets, skateboards and new clothes shared with the homes as well.
While most of the children think Santa brought all of these items, many also now realize there are many people who care about them and making sure they know that their lives matter. The joy on the face of a boy who just joined us in April last year running to the bathroom to change into his new HeatTech...makes it all worthwhile.
This year we will be focused on Girls in Tech, Getting 600 PCs to all 600 homes in Japan and started a scholarship page. We are calling the kids in the homes "champions" as they get on with thier lives and moving on to the next challenges.
Thank you very much again.
