Our Kids For Trees project has made wonderful progress over the last couple of months, We have successfully sensitized parents and children on planting fruit trees at homestead areas. These trees will provide shelter, water and subsequently food which will equally be sold to supplement family income. These trees have not just been placed on the ground, they will be actively cared for by the children through our one child one-tree program, which will teach them responsibility and biology. We also plan to establish 02 school fruit tree orchards with atleast 100 assorted fruit trees from the start when schools resume in September should our means permit. The impact of your support goes beyond just planting. We are seeing a real change in how the community views nature. Children are taking their new knowledge home, teaching their parents about the dangers of forest fires and the benefits of protecting biodiversity. Thank you for helping us sow the seeds of a greener, more sustainable world. One of our participants, a 14-year-old displaced from a nearby rural area, spent his first two weeks in the program completely withdrawn, refusing to speak during group exercises. By week six, after being paired with other children taking care of our nursery, he began leading his small peer team in daily soil moisture checks. His mother recently shared that the nursery routine has given him his first sense of stability in over two years. This is the power of nature in trauma recovery.
