Muchas gracias por su apoyo al acercamiento de una nueva generación de personas naturalistas, nuevos Amigos de los Parques, ¡verdaderos guardianes del futuro!    

En este tiempo, hemos logrado hacer algunos viajes con grupos pequeños de niños y niñas, pero, como las regiones de la Patagonia Chilena se han visto afectadas por prolongados periodos de cuarentena y restricciones sanitarias y muchas escuelas y parques nacionales no han podido retornar a su funcionamiento, decidimos trabajar en el material que acompañe y motive a estas nuevas generaciones e invite a despertar la conciencia de las personas en torno al patrimonio natural protegido como parques nacionales y parques marinos.

En este contexto, Amigos de los Parques se encuentra trabajando en el material educativo ¿Por qué Parques Nacionales? Una invitación a ser guardianes del futuro, el que estará disponible para las salidas a terreno con niños, niñas y jóvenes en parques de la Patagonia, que estamos desarrollando en conjunto con nuestros amigos de Ladera Sur y que busca recorrer el valor de la conservación desde distintas perspectivas a través de voces inspiradoras que movilicen a impulsar guardianes de los parques.

Cada texto está escrito e ilustrado por amigos y amigas de los parques, desde el amor por la naturaleza, estimulando a descubrir, querer y cuidar el patrimonio natural. Luego, cuando las restricciones sanitarias nos lo permitan, programaremos nuevas salidas para descubrir en terreno y abrir las puertas y las miradas al mundo de la naturaleza y la conservación.

En este periodo, hemos trabajado también en la generación y divulgación de material de difusión sobre distintas especies que habitan la Patagonia y que tienen problemas de conservación, como es el caso del Alerce, Lahuán o Lahual, Fitzroya cupressoides destacando también la relación de la humanidad con esta especie.

Hemos también generado material sobre distintas iniciativas del territorio que busca poner en valor y acercar el patrimonio natural, como ha sido el trabajo de Bosque con Lupa en la región de Aysén o el trabajo de naturalistas como Josefina Hepp y Catalina Mekis, quienes a través de sus libros acercan la naturaleza a las nuevas generaciones.

En este periodo nuevas instituciones sumaron su apoyo concreto a nuestros programas. Agradecemos a Kauyekén, organización sin fines de lucro, destinada a valorar, conservar e integrar el patrimonio natural y cultural chileno en sus distintos territorios y expresiones materiales e inmateriales. Agradecemos también a la Universidad Austral de Chile, con quienes estamos trabajando distintos proyectos para impulsar el conocimiento y la exploración de la naturaleza. Con ellos hemos hecho una serie de café científicos, que seguiremos abordando a lo largo del año.

Son nuestros primeros pasos en este largo camino de promover una cultura de parques. Una invitación a ser guardianes de nuestros parques nacionales, guardianes del futuro. ¡Gracias por ser parte de esta red!

Thank you very much for your support inspiring a new generation of naturalists, new Amigos de los Parques, true guardians of the future!

In this time, we have managed to make some trips with small groups of children, but, as the regions of Chilean Patagonia have been affected by prolonged periods of quarantine and sanitary restrictions and many schools and national parks have not been able to return to their operation, we decided to work on the material that accompanies and motivates these new generations and invites to awaken people's awareness of protected natural heritage such as national parks and marine parks.

In this context, Amigos de los Parques is working on the educational material Why National Parks? An invitation to be guardians of the future, which will be available for field trips with children and young people in national parks in Patagonia, which we are developing together with our friends from Ladera Sur and which seeks to explore the value of conservation from different perspectives through inspiring voices that mobilize to promote park guards.

Each text is written and illustrated by friends of the parks, from their love for nature to encourage discovering, loving and caring for the natural heritage. Then, when sanitary restrictions allow us, we will schedule new outings to discover on the ground and open doors and gazes to the world of nature and conservation.

In this period, we have also worked on the communication of educational material on different species that inhabit Patagonia and that have conservation problems, such as the Alerce, Lahuán or Lahual, Fitzroya cupressoides, also highlighting the relationship of humanity with this species.

We have also generated material on different initiatives of the territory that seek to value and bring the natural heritage closer, such as the work of Bosque con Lupa in Aysén region or the work of naturalists such as Josefina Hepp and Catalina Mekis, who through his books bring nature closer to new generations.

During this period, new institutions added their concrete support to our programs. We are grateful to Kauyekén, a non-profit organization, destined to value, conserve and integrate the Chilean natural and cultural heritage in its different territories and material and intangible expressions. We also thank the Austral University of Chile, with whom we are working on different projects to promote knowledge and exploration of nature. We have made a series of scientific coffee with them, which we will continue to address throughout the year.

They are our first steps on this long road to promoting a park culture. An invitation to be guardians of our national parks, guardians of the future. Thanks for being part of this network!
