Dear GlobalGiving Friends,
It is now summer time and our young friends in Khe Sanh are enjoying their Summer Vacation. During this time, the library will be closed temporary for students. However, to prepare for the new school year that will begin mid-August, the librarians and responsible teachers are working for selecting old worn books and replacing them with new ones. They are also working on the maintenance of cassette player, bookshelves and computers. Everything inside the library must be ready in good shape to serve 760 students in the new school year of 2015-2016.
“Despite of summer vacation, my work is still a lot. There are worn books that need to be removed and replaced. I also need to work with a carpenter to check on the bookshelves and make sure they are still working. Besides, the IT teacher also works with me to check on the computers.” shared Ms. Ha, the librarian.
While the students in Khe Sanh Primary School are going to continue enjoying their books in the new school year, there are still more than 400 tribal students in the nearby communes who are looking for such an opportunity.
GCSF is seeking to support at least 10 packages of books and bookshelves which can be put into 10 classrooms in Thanh commune where 100% of students are ethnic minority children. Books will be a meaningful gift for these 400 children in the new school year.
Friends, GCSF trusts that we can join hands to realize this dream to our little Vietnamese friends.
Sincerely,
Nguyen Xuan Tam and the GCSF team in Vietnam
