The 2018 Kerala floods were a result of the unusually severe amount of southwest monsoon rains. 35 out of 39 reservoirs in the state were opened for the first time in history. The calamity has has caused immeasurable misery and devastation. Many lives were lost.Hundreds of homes were totally destroyed and many more were damaged. For the first time in history, 27 dams in the State had to be opened. 70 deaths till August 16th.
The effect of the Floods have left many families in Thirunalley village and other villages in Kerala without the minimum requirements of groceries. In response, we are planning to help 500 poor families.
Priyadarshini Seva Mandali (PSM) has come along to help people that have been left homeless and the devastated individuals in kerala. PSM is collecting funds from every part of the society to help the individuals overcome the aftermath of Kerala floods. At Priyadarshini Seva Mandali, we are putting our best endeavours to do our share for each of those unfortunate people who have been affected by the floods and provide food for the poorest families.
This project will help 500 families in Kerela access food and start recovering from the devastating of the recent floods in the state of Kerala. Depending on funding, we may be able to help more individuals and families.
