To receive a certificate of completion for the KIBERA FILM SCHOOL foundation course, all trainees completed two projects: a short fictional film and a short documentary, about a Kibera community organization.

The KIBERA FILM SCHOOL trainees overcame many challenges, including power outages, hard drive failure, volunteer actors not showing up for the filming, problems with sound and lighting, and moving to a new office and training centre in January 2010, that is still being repaired and renovated two months later.

CNN followed the trainees around one day while they were working on their projects. You can view them on http://bit.ly/bibpUb

Here’s what John Ngaruiya known as “GG Spice”, 23 year old, musician and artist, replied when asked, What have I gained from Hot Sun Foundation and the Kibera Film School?

"So many things, including access to equipment and technology that I never had before as well as networking with people, including sending emails and Facebook.

"I will not see Hot Sun Foundation failing. I will not run away after I get my own training. I want to go on and see that Hot Sun Foundation and the Kibera Film School get international recognition. " WHAT YOU CAN DO>>>>>>>>>>>>>
