My name is Godfrey Chogo. I am 24 years old.
Ever since I was young I wanted to make films. I didn't just want to, I felt I needed to do something for humanity through film. We have a lot happening in our communities. I can't reach everybody just like that. So I had to do something to reach them. I can do it through film.
I live in Mathare, which is a slum community like Kibera, in Nairobi. I work as a community volunteer. One of our supporters knew I wanted to study film. By my good luck, he brought me to Kibera Film School.
After just two weeks, I have gained a lot. I didn't know anything about script writing. I am finding out it's a long process.
The trainers here at Kibera Film School have this personality of caring for everyone. Here it is very different than in the other schools in Kenya. In others, it's all theory. In Kibera Film School, it's practical. You do something and see for yourself the results.
What is my message to our supporters on Global Giving?
