What is one of the many great things about Kibera Film School in Nairobi, Kenya?
International visitors - talented people like filmmaker Mireia Fort from Barcelona Spain. Mireia is a documentary filmmaker, who shares the Hot Sun Foundation vision of social transformation through arts and media.
In two sessions in September with the Kibera Film School trainees, who had just started their training a few days earlier, Mireia brought them closer to the world of filmmaking.
In the first exercise, all the filmmaking trainees stood in the street near the school and watched and listened to everything going on around them. They wrote down what they experienced. The next day they turned their observations into a series of one-minute videos - glimpses into the everyday reality of life in Kibera.
Thank you, Mireia for sharing your enthusiasm and talent with the young filmmakers at Kibera Film School!
Thank you to all the present, past and future supporters of Hot Sun Foundation on GlobalGiving. Your donations support an innovative film school in an East African slum, where talented filmmakers like Mireia inspire youth to tell their stories.
