Keep in school 139 rural Romanian children

During the last four months, 139 direct beneficiaries took part in 128 educational, and personal development activities and workshops, delivered with the invaluable support of 37 volunteers, who contributed a total of 479 hours of volunteer service.

Alongside the regular formal educational activities carried out in local schools and at the Adina Home Educational Center, we organized a wide range of non-formal learning experiences, including:

• Environmental action: Children from Adina Home joined dedicated volunteers from Cummins Generator Technologies Craiova and the Farcas Town Hall in cleaning riverbanks and green areas within the community, promoting environmental responsibility and civic engagement.
• Intergenerational connection: Together with residents of the Optim Care Center "Sfântul Ion," children celebrated the arrival of spring and Easter through creative workshops, crafting seasonal decorations and sharing meaningful moments across generations.
• European solidarity and teamwork: In partnership with The 3D Youth Association, children enjoyed outdoor and indoor games, team-building activities, and plenty of laughter alongside European Solidarity Corps volunteers.
• Zero Food Waste: Together with volunteers, the children participated in the National Easter Food Collection Campaign organized by the Food Bank of Craiova. Nearly 6 tonnes of food were collected and distributed to vulnerable families in the communes of Simnicu de Sus, Goiesti, and Farcas.
• Health and personal development: Through workshops delivered by our partner, Pe Stop Association, participants openly discussed topics that are often overlooked in school, including menstrual education, body awareness, consent, personal development, hygiene, and healthy relationships.
• Career guidance: Eighth-grade students visited the UCECOM "Spiru Haret" Technological High School in Craiova to explore vocational education opportunities in fields such as auto mechanics, culinary arts, hairdressing, and economic studies, helping them make informed decisions about their future.
• STEM engagement: The RoboMech Adina team proudly participated once again in the Science Fair organized by the Faculty of Mechanics in Craiova, where they presented their robot and interacted with students and representatives from many of the city's schools and high schools.
• Cultural enrichment: Children attended Shakespeare Village, a performance within the International Shakespeare Festival Craiova, held at the Hippodrome in Nicolae Romanescu Park, experiencing theatre in an inspiring outdoor setting.
• Digital safety: Participants learned how to recognize online risks and navigate the digital world safely during an interactive Online Safety Workshop.

Every activity offered children new opportunities to learn, build confidence, develop practical life skills, and strengthen their sense of belonging within the community.
