This project aims to support pupils and students, coming from families affected by generational poverty, to continue their education path by providing essential school supplies, nutritious snacks, and commuting costs within programs designed for educational growth and personal development. Your support will offer to 139 vulnerable children and youth from 29 villages north of Craiova, Romania, access to activities run exclusively by volunteer teachers and students not only during the school year.
1 in 3 children is at risk-of-poverty in the South-West Oltenia region of Romania and in the rural area 1 in 5 drops out of school at 14 years old. In this context, many of our children are forced to give up their dreams of pursuing a career due to lack of financial resources, the limited access to quality education and services, becoming victims of marginalization, social exclusion and domestic violence. Without the foundation's support, these children could never reach their true potential.
We are an NGO focused on developing vocation-based skills and abilities of vulnerable children through 7 socio-educational programs integrated into an innovative concept: "From Kindergarten to Life", carried out in the families, kindergartens, schools and Adina Home, with volunteers' support. Every day access to quality educational activities in a safe, stimulating environment and community support removes some of the most immediate barriers that prevent children from attending school regularly.
The change produced in the community comes from coherence and consistency, from the holistic approach to the problems faced by vulnerable people and the necessity of implementing long-term intervention programs. Your support contributes to increasing the level of education and reducing school dropout rate in one of the poorest regions of EU. More than this, our beneficiaries themselves become actors of change breaking the cycle of generational poverty and, many of them becoming our volunteers.
