The Keeping Costa Rica Wild Program pays for the wide range of species that TRR cares for on an annual basis: this includes tayras, wildcats, otters, spider monkeys, and more. Donations to the fund go directly towards the care of the animals and the development of new programs and initiatives to protect and conserve wildlife in Costa Rica.
Costa Rica's extraordinary biodiversity faces growing pressure from habitat loss, urban expansion, illegal wildlife trade, road accidents, and other human-related threats. Many rescued animals-from wildcats and monkeys to reptiles and other native species-need specialized care, yet do not have a dedicated species-specific fund to support their recovery.
Keeping Costa Rica Wild provides flexible funding for the rescue, care, rehabilitation, and release of native wildlife that does not fall under Toucan Rescue Ranch's species-specific programs. Donations help cover food, enrichment, medical care, rehabilitation supplies, habitat needs, and other essential resources required to give each animal the best possible chance of recovery.
By supporting a broad range of native species, Keeping Costa Rica Wild strengthens Toucan Rescue Ranch's ability to respond wherever wildlife needs help most. Over time, the program will improve rehabilitation capacity, increase opportunities for successful release, and contribute to healthier wild populations and the long-term protection of Costa Rica's remarkable biodiversity.
