Every Christmas, UP Zambia brings the festive season closer to children in correctional facilities. These teens are far from home and often feeling forgotten. Our outreach offers emotional support, essentials, and hope. This year, we are expanding to Muchinga and Eastern Provinces. We need your help to provide toiletries, clothing, stationery, food, and drinks to over 500 children to make their Christmas meaningful.
Ten years ago, friends visiting Kamwala Remand, now Lusaka Remand Correctional Facility, with 50 blankets sparked a movement aiding thousands of children in the child justice system. Grateful children said, "Thank you for coming. Tonight will be warm. Tonight we will talk about being treated like human beings. Please do not forget about us." As winter sets in across Zambia, the cold nights are especially harsh for children in detention, causing physical discomfort and psychological strain.
Your donation will provide children with Hygiene essentials, food and Stationery this festive season. This contribution can bring comfort and show these children that they are not forgotten.
Your support goes beyond providing children with legal and social services . It reinforces the mission of UP Zambia that every child in conflict with the law is seen, heard and given a fair chance at justice and rehabilitation.
