A recent letter from the daughter of one of the victims sheltered at the Shalom Center who was physically abused by his second wife stated, “I am not sure where to begin other than to say up front that you very well may have saved the life of my father. You offered a protective environment for my father who has been repeatedly abused in recent years by a much younger wife. You provided the safe haven that allowed my dad to heal physically and emotionally. At a crisis time in his life you provided a wonderful, safe and caring environment.”
The Shalom Center at Cedar Village provides a safe have for victims of elder abuse.
