Access to basic hygiene and menstrual health management remains a critical barrier to education for adolescent girls in marginalized communities. Across Turkana County, many girls frequently miss school losing vital instructional days each month purely due to a lack of affordable sanitary towels and hygiene support, leading to severe disruptions in their learning and long-term academic potential.
To address this challenge head-on, ACTS Foundation Kenya Organization’s initiative is helping as a vital lifeline for vulnerable students. By providing essential dignity kits, conducting health and hygiene education, and fostering secure school environments, this program ensures that adolescent girls are kept in school with confidence, self-respect, and uninterrupted attendance. Beyond immediate material support, the initiative actively engages teachers, parents, and community stakeholders to dismantle stigma, build local support networks, and champion girl-child education as a cornerstone of sustainable community development.
