Through the generosity of our donors and supporters, 12 girls have received full-ride scholarships through the Fabian and Patricia Okonkwo Scholarship for the 2026/2027 academic session.
These girls, from JSS1 through SS2, can now attend school without the financial burden of essential education costs standing in their way. For girls whose families may struggle to meet the costs of education, this support can make the difference between staying in school and having their education interrupted.
The scholarship covers the educational support they need to continue their studies, allowing them to go to school, learn freely, and focus on their education without financial constraints.
Why this mattersFor many families, the cost of keeping a child in secondary school goes far beyond tuition. Uniforms, books, examination fees, transportation, and other school-related expenses can place significant pressure on household finances.
When families cannot afford these costs, girls can be particularly vulnerable to missing school or dropping out altogether.
The Fabian and Patricia Okonkwo Scholarship helps remove these barriers. By providing comprehensive educational support, we are giving these 12 girls the opportunity to remain in school and continue progressing toward graduation.
A flagship program for girls' educationThe Fabian and Patricia Okonkwo Scholarship is one of Power of Two's flagship educational programs. It represents our commitment to making education accessible to girls who might otherwise struggle to remain in school because of financial hardship.
This year's 12 scholarship recipients are now able to approach the 2026/2027 academic year with greater confidence and stability. Instead of worrying about whether their families can afford the costs of school, they can focus their energy on learning, developing their abilities, and preparing for their futures.
The impact of your generosityEvery scholarship represents more than financial assistance. It represents an opportunity.
Your support is helping these girls:
Stay in school and continue their education.
Learn without the constant worry of education-related financial costs.
Access the materials and support they need for their studies.
Progress toward completing secondary school.
Build the knowledge and skills needed to pursue future educational and economic opportunities.
For these 12 girls, the message is clear: their education matters, and their future is worth investing in.
Looking aheadWhile we celebrate the 12 girls receiving full scholarships this academic year, we know that many more girls face similar financial barriers.
Power of Two will continue working to ensure that financial hardship does not prevent girls from accessing and completing their education. With continued donor support, we can reach more girls, keep more students in school, and help create opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to the Keep Her in School campaign. Your generosity is helping 12 girls stay in school, learn freely, and move closer to achieving their educational goals.
Together, we are keeping girls in school and investing in a brighter future.
