The menstrual hygiene project has made significant strides in ensuring that girls remain in school during their menstrual periods. Volunteer facilitators have been trained to conduct menstrual health talks in schools and communities. The training has provided essential information about menstrual hygiene, health, and the importance of continuing education during menstruation.
Additionally, the project has distributed menstrual pads to adolescent girls to the community through a pad bank, enabling girls to manage their periods with dignity and comfort. This has helped to reduce the stigma associated with menstruation and empower girls to stay in school.
Currently menstrual hygiene sessions for girls run twice monthly, on Sundays when adolescent girls are not in school. The project has noted significant confidence from the girls.
