We do not know something like winter sleep.

St. Catherine Convent with our help - new car

Although the ruins of St. Catherine’s Convent are mostly abandoned now, volunteers who care for this project are not idle at all. They do not know something like winter sleep.

Volunteers work hard all the time – be it during summer or during winter.

You can ask: how? Why? For correct and smooth running of this project they need to be ready for action whole year. For example, in December 2015 the Core (the group of leaders of this project) had decided to buy a new car.  It was a difficult decision, but a need of new vehicle was alarming.
A car was bought from saved money, that was supposed to be used for different purpose. It is a difficult situation for us, we had some donors, but their gifts didn’t cover whole payment.

Our volunteers were also helping our sisterhood-project at Hrušov Castle. They were helping with cleaning some areas of this castle, where archeological research will be done. It is something like a tradition to help them.

In January 2016, a new registration has started for summer workshops. Four summer workshops are for everyone who want to help with saving of this old monastery and spend some time in nature. Without cellphones, watches, or any electronic devices. It is quite challenging for young people, but it can also change their attitude to life in this modern times.
In February 2016, trainings have started for leaders and for people who will be working with new volunteers during summer. The work had to be done like professionals, so there is a big need of proper training for them.

New year 2016 is challenging for all of us. Year 2016 is the year of Church Tower opening and we hope that it can attract many tourists. Right now we need to secure our financials for stairs renovation. We are looking for some sponsors and donators to help us build the tower stairs.
