Project Report | Aug 19, 2026
A double earthquake hits Venezuela

By Francois Montalant | Project Manager

Dear Donors,

We are sharing this progress report with you to provide a transparent overview of our recent humanitarian operations, our ongoing collaborations, and our strategic plans for the upcoming months. Your continuous generosity remains the driving force behind every initiative we undertake.

Overview of the Venezuela Earthquake Doublet

On June 24, north-central Venezuela was struck by a severe and unexpected double earthquake. The first event registered as a magnitude 7.2 tremor, which was followed approximately 40 seconds later by a powerful magnitude 7.5 mainshock. These consecutive seismic events caused widespread structural damage across multiple regions, particularly impacting coastal communities, residential zones, and essential infrastructure. In response to the immediate crisis, local authorities declared a state of emergency, and emergency services mobilized rapidly to manage search, rescue, and initial stabilization efforts.

Collaborative Relief Efforts

In the wake of this disaster, our immediate priority has been directing all available resources toward helping the affected communities. We recognize that a crisis of this scale requires a unified approach. To maximize our impact, our teams have been working hand in hand with other local and international non-governmental organizations. Through this coordinated network, we have focused on delivering emergency supplies, supporting temporary shelter setups, and addressing the urgent logistical challenges in the hardest-hit zones. Your contributions have directly enabled us to maintain a nimble, ground-level presence alongside our humanitarian partners.

Looking Ahead to September: Join Tepui XR

As we transition from emergency response toward recovery, we are preparing to resume our scheduled programmatic work. Beginning in September, our team will officially return to the Join Tepui XR for Low Income Schools project. We are thrilled to share that we have exciting news regarding technological rollouts and expanded educational modules for underprivileged students that will be unveiled at the start of next month. Returning to this project marks a meaningful step in helping vulnerable students regain a sense of normalcy and future-oriented learning.

Call to Action for Relief Initiatives

While our educational initiatives resume shortly, the road to recovery for the broader region remains long. The communities affected by the June earthquakes still require substantial assistance to rebuild homes, restore community infrastructure, and regain long-term stability. We invite you to join us in supporting these ongoing relief efforts. Your donation to our dedicated Venezuela emergency initiatives will directly fund essential recovery supplies, reconstruction materials, and family support systems. Please consider making a contribution today to help us continue this vital work and stand by the people of Venezuela during their time of need.

Thank you for your unwavering compassion and partnership.
