Give Argentine Youth a Chance

Dear friends,

On October 13th, Cimientos celebrated it´s 20th anniversary. We are so happy to know we´ve been changing thousands of low income youths and families through education and employment opportunities during all these years.

 On this occasion, we want to share with you the story of David, an 18 year old boy who lives in a vulnerable neighborhood of the City of Buenos Aires. When he was about to finish high school, David listened to a talk we gave at his school about the needs of the current job market, to invite young people to take an administrative assistant and soft skills course that would allow them to access quality jobs.

 David did not hesitate a second. So far he had only had sporadic and precarious jobs as a bricklayer. He took the course that we dictated together with KPMG and J.P. Morgan and a week before receiving his diploma, he got a job as a receptionist at DuPont.

 It´s been 5 months since he started working. He has an excellent salary, health insurance, retirement contributions, he is working and training in a company that is also very satisfied with his performance. He never imagined that a few months after finishing high school and taking our course he would be this good.

Thanksgiving is approaching and we really like the habit in the USA of thinking and sharing what they are thankful for ... In Cimientos, we are grateful to have completed 20 years of hard work to change stories like David's and we appreciate the support of all our donors who made and make our work possible.
