Project Report | Apr 2, 2023
Empowering Young People

By Gimena Zeniquel | Responsable de Red de Egresados

We, at the Graduates Network, have begun planning for 2023, and we're excited to share some of the proposals we aim to implement:

  • TRAINING COURSES: We plan to increase the number of job training courses to be held in 2023, with 10 courses planned and an estimated national reach of 270 young people, including both in-person and virtual options (covering areas in CABA, GBA, and the interior of the country).
  • EVENTS: We have also planned two new editions of the National Virtual Youth Meetings in July and November, focusing on vocational and career guidance respectively. These proposals will be open, allowing participation from young people who have not yet been involved in our programs. In addition, we have planned three Simulated Job Interview Workshops and two School-to-Work and Vocational Transition Workshops for secondary school scholarship program participants who are in their final years of school.

• This year, 400 young people will graduate and join a network of approximately 3000 young people aged 17 to 25 from various Cimientos´ programs.

  • JOB PLACEMENT: We have successfully placed 21 graduates in jobs in the first few months and are working on a strategic plan to increase employment opportunities for our alumni.

One of the students who has recently started working at ITBA and posted the following message of gratitude on LinkedIn:

“(...) I would like to thank my mentor and the team at Fundación Cimientos for first bringing this job opportunity to my attention. A new chapter begins for me, with new challenges and more motivation than ever to put in the time and energy needed to learn and grow. Let's do this!”

  • VOCATIONAL AND CAREER GUIDANCE: We are working in partnership with the Future Graduates Program (a high school scholarship program) to continue promoting the Senior Cycle Strategy (which covers students in the last two years of high school). We provide spaces for vocational guidance so that they can learn about new career opportunities and identify their areas of interest while also preparing themselves with more resources and tools to be more competitive when seeking their first job.

• With the team from the University Scholarship Program, we have begun working with advanced scholarship recipients on employability activities. The goal is to provide tools to enhance each graduate's profile, focusing on post-graduation job placement in fields related to their degrees.

  • HIGHER EDUCATION: We currently have 76 young people studying in partnership with private universities, thanks to work agreements generated by the Alumni Network that allow these young people to access scholarships. In this first stage of the year, we are working on the final renewals and new applications for 2023, while also supporting graduates in preparing and submitting their application documents. As part of our support for alumni in preparing and adapting to university life, we will organize three meetings to work with them on these topics, as well as to provide spaces for listening and collaborative construction among young people.

The Graduates Network continues to enhance its work in conjunction with other organizations and strategic partners: during 2022, around 100 companies, universities, NGOs, and government offices offered job and training opportunities, or participated with volunteers in activities, workshops, or training courses. We believe that the strength of our actions lies in our network and our ability to reach more young people.

If you would like to support our mission and help more young people break free from poverty by accessing job and training opportunities, please consider making a donation. You can also assist us by spreading the word and sharing our link with your friends and family

Best regards and thank you for your support.
