Give youth the opportunity to design their own life project - Looking into the day after school

By Maria Hilaire | Project Leader

Dear friends:

In this occasion we want to share with you that we are working hard so that 442 young people from different provinces of Argentina can finish high school by December and focusing specially in their ability to define their own life project; project that they will be able to carry out forward next year.

Our tutors are having monthly individual and / or group meetings where they help them prepare their exams, give them vocational guidance workshops, organize visits to universities and talks with professionals from different careers so that they can identify study options and thus choose what to keep on studying after high school. At the same time, we are working as a team together with our University Scholarship Program to manage scholarships for those youth who already have defined what to study but need financial help to do so. This is how today we have partnerships with more than 10 public and private universities and NGOs to offer scholarships to our students.

We share 2 photos of meetings we did in July for a total of 123 students. In these meetings, 6 vocational guidance specialists and 50 professionals from different careers collaborated and we also made an exhibition with more than 15 scholarship programs so that young people could take information about scholarships and studies.

In the following months we will provide job orientation workshops, we will make visits to companies and at the end of the year we will manage job interviews with different companies so that some of these 442 can get their first formal job.

We continue to count on your support to change the lives of these young people and their families, through education and work.

Best regards,

Maria
