World Heart Beat's mission is to make quality music education accessible to every child. We are fundraising to continue to support the 49% of our students who study through our bursaries - without your continued support our academy wouldn't thrive with the same multitude of young, talented musicians who we get to teach. Our Jazz programme is totally free, and we would like keep it that way, so we need your help - we are so grateful for any support which you can offer!
High quality music programmes are constantly in danger of being cut from today's shrinking school budgets. This is becoming an alarming trend which makes learning music a luxury. Music is an essential part of learning. Children who study a music instrument are more likely to excel in all of their studies, work better in teams, have enhanced critical thinking skills, stay in school and pursue further education.
Regardless of background or ability, regardless of expertise, every child should have access to the best musicians and top industry professionals to develop their musical talent. Playing gives children the feeling that they are part of something that nobody can take away from them. This confidence translates to other areas of their lives, giving them the tools to support their own dreams and aspirations and the freedom to make the right choices to become successful and happy adults.
Our ethos is grounded in social change. We aim to inspire and motivate disadvantaged young people to reach beyond the limitations their circumstances have placed on them. This project will enable them to develop their leadership potential and pursue sustainable careers in the music industry and the wider creative sector. They will have a safe platform to lift their aspirations and maximise their potential as both musicians and as citizens of the world.
