We are a busy rescue center located in the South Caribbean side of Costa Rica. For more than 10 years our main goal has been the rehabilitation and release of all kind of orphans, sick or injured wildlife. We attend to more than 500 patients every year, including monkeys, wildcats, sloths and all kind of small mammals, birds and reptiles. Without government funding, this project will fund essential supplies, new equipment for the facility and care for our wild guests.
The Jaguar Rescue Center is already overwhelmed with more and more wild animals needing care: from baby orphans to injured or sick animals that need 24 hour attention. There are several dangers that these wonderful creatures have to face here in Costa Rica: electrocutions on the power lines, accidents on the road, poaching, pet trading... The process from rescuing to release an animal back in the wild is usually long and expensive, that's why we need your help to continue rehabilitating them
This project will enhance the Jaguar Rescue Center program: getting veterinary supplies, food for the animals, paying for complex surgeries or transportation expenses: every little helps for our animals! We will be also able to build more enclosures and therefore welcome more animals in our facility.
We think that saving an animal contributes to save the whole species. That's why we want to rescue and release as much animals as we can. We also run educational programs with local schools in order to spread awareness about environmental conservation among young kids. The Jaguar Rescue Center is also involve in conversation with the National Electric Company in order to fix all the existing black points on the power lines of its area.
