Izibalo has been hard at work in this first quarter of 2025, ensuring that underprivileged learners receive the high-quality educational support they need to thrive. Our commitment to fostering strong Numeracy and Literacy skills remains unwavering, and we are excited to share the progress we have made so far this year.
Our Maths Pod, situated in a local community, has seen a significant increase in enrolment, with just under 70 learners now receiving three hours of free, high-quality tutoring each week. To further enhance our impact, we are actively vetting and training additional tutors, ensuring that our learners continue to receive the best possible support from dedicated and well-equipped educators.
Our Numeracy programme is currently operational in one school, providing learners with essential mathematical foundations that set them up for success. However, our vision extends far beyond this initial phase. By the end of 2025, we aim to expand the programme to five schools, allowing us to reach and empower even more young minds. This expansion will be made possible through strategic partnerships, additional tutor training, and continued support from our generous donors and stakeholders.
Recognizing the strong link between literacy and numeracy, we are preparing to launch a Literacy programme designed to complement our existing Numeracy initiative. This programme is set to be piloted at the beginning of the third term. By integrating literacy support alongside numeracy development, we aim to provide a holistic approach to education that fosters long-term academic success.
As we continue our work in 2025, Izibalo remains committed to expanding our reach and deepening our impact. With the support of our dedicated team, volunteers, and donors, we are confident in our ability to transform educational outcomes for underprivileged learners in our communities. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us—we look forward to sharing more milestones in the coming months!
